Description

This two-day international Conference will examine the challenges in ensuring that maintenance personnel are equipped for future airworthiness demands in fixed and rotary wing, civil and military aviation. It will include a wide range of presentations by leading experts drawing upon recent research, together with participatory workshops, with a view to determining how the issues might best be resolved and how the RAeS might help facilitate progress.

The Conference will examine the forecast shortfall of licensed maintenance engineers and technicians worldwide, training school output standards, and selection tools and processes. It will address the skills sets and techniques needed for tomorrow’s maintenance tasks, the use of new materials, notably composites, and whether training tools are optimised for future needs. The impact of on-board diagnostics, health management systems and built in test will also be discussed.
