A one day short course that aims to provide an insight into the theory and application of bioinformatics. The lecture course will define bioinformatics and discuss its usefulness. The practical component will involve you finding, analysing and applying sequence data allowing you to experience the use of databases and to demonstrate some principles of data mining.
