Richard LeGates will describe work in progress on a SPLINT project to assess the status of GIS/GIScience instruction in UK urban planning programs, define core spatial thinking concepts students studying urban planning should master, and propose alternative paths to link planning-related spatial thinking concepts to GIS techniques and operations.
