Description
The IiME ME/CFS Conference for 2007 will be held on over two days – 1st and 2nd May, 2007 in London and will begin ME Awareness Month 2007. Note: Delegates may attend either one or both days. The conference carries full CPD-accreditation (12 points credit for the two days – 6 points per day).
1st May – ME Awareness & Support Conference Day will consist of a series of group presentations and is designed for healthcare professionals, people with ME and their carers and ME Support groups with a view to working together.
2nd May – Professionals Conference Day is the formal presentation day for healthcare professionals – doctors, paediatricians, nurses, researchers, students etc. as well as people with ME and their carers and ME support groups.
The conference builds on experience and knowledge from the Invest in ME ME/CFS Conference 2006. The conference provides an opportunity for people within government, health departments, social services and educations to be able to be informed of the true nature of ME/CFS and of the current status of diagnosis, treatment and current/future biomedical research possibilities. The conference will provide a chance to hear the latest news on ME from the most prominent speakers within the ME community – in ME Awareness Month 2007. By attracting some of the most renowned experts on ME at one conference healthcare professionals, doctors, nurses, researchers, ME support groups and people with ME will be able gain an excellent insight into these areas and the issues currently facing the healthcare and ME patient communities. We hope this conference will highlight the need for publicly funded biomedical research which will lead to treatment and a cure for this devastating illness – an illness which is about 5 times more common in the UK than HIV/AIDS.
There are both downloadable and online registration forms and details of the presenters on the conference site.
