Description
This is a course devoted to outdoor practical photography amidst the spring delights of Wakehurst Place with the guidance of two of Kew’s most experienced amateur photographers. The day will be spent in and around the ornamental gardens near the mansion which present a wide variety of photographic challenges. The tutors will be drawing your attention to the trees, plants and views making up the spring picture at Wakehurst and sharing their hints and tips for the best ways of capturing them on film. Suitable for pro-active improvers.
Dr Peter Brandham worked at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew for over 31 years as a scientist in the Cytogenetics Section of the Jodrell Laboratory. He is widely recognised as an expert in botanical photography, with many of his pictures having been published. Using all his own images he give a large number of lectures per year to a wide range of societies about the Royal Botanic Gardens, botanical travel and the artistry of plant portraiture.
Dr John Dickie is a long standing member of the scientific staff at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Wakehurst Place. He is a very keen and experienced photographer with a comprehensive knowledge of the landscape and the plants at Wakehurst.
