Thrilling cabaret and a double-bill of plays explore our fear of donating our bodies after death.

In ‘The Bodysnatcher’, set in the Victorian world of black market cadaver trade, an ambitious medical student finds his conscience compromised. In ‘The Gift’, in 2007, a family wrangle over the body of their loved one, while a transplant surgeon’s accident makes him suddenly vulnerable. By new company Metal & Bone, in collaboration with Britain’s leading surgeons.

Gala night on 17th April includes cabaret and debate; 7.30 pm.

The Old Operating Theatre, Museum & Herb Garret is based in the newly-restored attic of St Thomas’s Church, at 9a St Thomas Street, London, SE1 9RY, a short walk from London Bridge station. The museum is open every day from 10.30 am to 5.00 pm. We are open Bank Holidays except Christmas Day and Boxing Day and we are closed 15th Dec – 5th Jan.

Admission is £5.25 for adults, £4.25 for concessions and £3.00 for children. There is no extra charge for special events and workshop. There is also a gift and bookshop, offering extensive medical and herbal information and a range of children’s toys. Further information is available on the museum’s website at www.thegarret.org.uk.
