    Musings on London science.

    • British Pathé: Like A YouTube Of The Olden Days

Have we all discovered this site yet? It’s a marvel. Thousands and thousands of short news reels from the Victorian age till the early 1970s. I’ve compiled some of the best general London-themed videos over on Londonist, but there’s also a good deal of science-related footage from London to browse through.

      Examples:
Clement Atlee congratulates two British Nobel Prize winners, Sir Edward Appleton (Physics) and Sir Robert Robinson (Chemistry) (1948)

A chimp tries out some of the exhibits at a science fair in Burlington House (1965)

Space scientists meet at Imperial (1967).

One for Stephen Curry – how to make crystals at the ‘Kensington Museum’ (1939)

And that’s just from the first of seven pages of search results.

A search for just ‘science’ yields around 500 results. Say goodbye to your afternoon.
