Fans of science, trivia and wine (and I’m guessing there are a few of you on here) should mark 27 July in their diaries now. The second science pub quiz at the Royal Institution begins around 7pm and will be co-hosted by Martin Davies of the RI and myself. Nature Network superstars bloggers Richard Grant and Jenny Rohn have set a special ‘guest round’ of questions. Entry is £2 per person with teams of up to five. Meanwhile, a few photos from the last quiz’s picture round still need de-puzzling.

I’ll be on my holiday I’m afraid (afraid? well, you know what I mean, sorry to miss the quiz). Maybe reprise at SciOnline?
And oooooo but these questions are evil. Mwah hah hah.

Good! I got told off by colleagues who did the last quiz for how hard mine were!
Wusses, eh?
Not really relating to pubs, but science trivia nonetheless: we had a guest speaker yesterday who was born in Shrewsbury. The question asked to the audience was, “why is this of interest to the people here?”
Hint – the lecture was delivered within the space occupied by the Programme in Genetics and Genome Biology.
