    Musings on London science.

    • This month's Nature Network London drinks

      Friday, 18 May 2007 - 09:53 UTC

It’s almost that time of month again. Head over to the Lamb (94 Lamb’s Conduit Street) on Wednesday 30 May for an informal drink or two with other Nature Networkers. There’s no theme or agenda, other than to talk science with varied and interesting people.

Get there early – the first 30 people to arrive will receive a complimentary drink.

Science gatherings don’t really come more informal or friendly than this. We’ve previously welcomed scientists from many disciplines as well as CEOs, event organisers, librarians, science communicators, editors… Anyone who in some way works in science in London is welcome to come along.

If you’d like to join us, please email londonevents – at – nature dot com (so we can keep track of numbers).

Wednesday 30 May, upstairs bar, from 6.30

          I’m there too.

I, personally, am hoping for a complementary drink – it’s nice for the alcohol to tell you you’re gorgeous for once!

Well, that was fun. And I was there til closing.

I had three coats at the end of the night – one was mine, one I have managed to reunite thanks to a random Canadian, and a third…

          Is this your coat?

I brought it downstairs when we were chucked out the upstairs bit, but it belonged to none of the last stragglers. Is it yours? Do you recognise it?

It is a navy blue fleece type thing, with a hood, and brown fluffy lining. Quite warm, and looks either quite expensive or a decent knock-off.

It is being well looked after at the moment but is pining for its owner.

If that is your coat leave £1,000 in used fivers behind the, oh, hold on, this isn’t anonymous is it…, umm email me at rdsociety@royalsoc.ac.uk to identify it and arrange its return.
