Description
We present two recent works to assess the significance of exceptional words, such as Transcription Factor Binding Sites in co-regulated genes. First, one designs AhoPro, a variant of a classical automaton, AhoCorasick. A nice feature is the possible assessment of the significance of a weak signal when exists a strong signal. Space requirement is minimized in a second approach, that relies on a so-called overlapping graph. Some applications to Drosophila regulation are presented.
