Description

A significant observational effort is underway to measure the B-mode polarization of CMB, which would contain imprints of relic gravity waves produced by Inflation. Another potentially observable source of primordial B-modes are cosmic strings expected in many models of hybrid inflation. In addition to B-modes, I will discuss two other CMB signatures of strings: the excess temperature anisotropy on small scales, and a positive correlation between CMB and tracers of large scale structure.
