Description

We are pleased to invite you, your family, and friends to the annual holiday science and engineering lecture …

Science by Candlelight
A Holiday Lecture for Children and Their Parents (recommended for ages 7 and up)

Date: Saturday, December 16, 10–11 a.m.
Location: Harvard Science Center, Lecture Hall B

Kids, families, students, teachers, and the curious are invited to spend an hour observing candles and learning about the scientific ideas they inspire. Experiments and demonstrations will be used to show how exciting, visually beautiful and scientifically informative a candle can be if examined closely.

Children in the audience will be invited to participate in several of the demonstrations. This interactive presentation, given by Professor Howard Stone and colleagues, is based on a famous set of lectures first given to children a century ago by the great scientist Michael Faraday. Please join us for a morning of education and fun.

While the lecture is free, you MUST REGISTER and obtain tickets if you plan to attend. Please note: seating is limited.
