Description
Plants are the engine of life, converting radiant solar energy into the compound that makes the world run—-sugar. Understanding this process is key in two of the major issues facing our ever-increasing global community—-the production of biofuels and food. Harvard Professor of Forestry and plant physiologist Michele Holbrook will provide an introduction to the evolutionary history and biochemistry of photosynthesis for a broader discussion of using plants as a source of liquid fuels.
