Description
This is a special Nanoscale Science and Engineering Center (NSEC) event, presented on the development of a new approach to negative index materials based on strong anisotropy of the dielectric response. In contrast to conventional negative refraction systems, this method does not rely on magnetic resonance and does not require periodic patterning, which leads to lower losses and high tolerance to fabrication defects. This presentation will demonstrate that such non-magnetic negative-index materials can be effectively used for subwavelength imaging.
