The Nature Biotechnology Bioentrepreneur Roundtable discussion on “Biotech Investment: The Importance of Taking the Lead”, at the BIO
International Convention, will be convened as the meeting gets under way. In an increasingly competitive environment for funding for small
startups, particularly in Europe and Asia, the panel will explore the importance of lead investors in venture creation as well as other potential
financing mechanisms to complement traditional sources of funding. What do we know about trends in terms of activity and enthusiasm of investors
willing to take the lead in deals? Should governments back investor groups that are willing to be the lead? The panel includes seasoned
regional representatives, investors and entrepreneurs from around the globe.
