Nature Network Hubs

Nature Network is both global and local. Explore our local Hubs, shown on the map, where you can meet local scientists, find events listings, look for jobs and catch up on local news.

What is a Hub?

On Nature Network, Hubs are areas of the world with thriving scientific communities. You can set your local Hub on your profile page, and see who else on the Network works in the same geographic area as you. For the Hubs that are most popular, we will set up a special set of pages with extra features to support the local research community. Boston and London were the first such Hubs to receive these special pages and we've recently launched one for New York.

Why have Hubs?

Although research is a global endeavor, where international collaborations are common, many of the most important interactions can take place at the local level. Nature Network recognizes and supports the value of local collaborations by hosting local networking events and maintaining an events calendar, jobs page, local science blog and a local forum for each of the cities shown on the map. If you’d like to see your own city on the map, encourage other local scientists to sign up to Nature Network.
