Go on, inspire someone

I spent Monday evening judging a science contest at a girl’s school in central London near Regent’s Park. I was so impressed that a group of 13-year-olds were so enthusiastic that they’d give up their spare time to do their own experiments.
The experience also took me back to when I was at school, the only girl in my chemistry class…I could have used a female role model back then, and so could these girls. So I wanted to ask whether there are any inspirational female scientists out there who would be willing to give a talk to some students at this school, to encourage them to become scientists themselves?

If you would like to help inspire school children to become scientists and don’t find central London convenient then you should join the STEM Ambassadors scheme. If you are a researcher there is also the Researchers in Residence scheme.
