Nepal is home to more than 862 bird species. 193 species of birds are directly dependent on wetlands which represent about 22 percent of total bird species found in Nepal.
Waterbirds of Nepal face a number of threats. Among these, the major threats include water pollution, hunting, trapping, nest disturbance and fish poisoning.
In this context, we realize the power of web in promoting conservation through networking, and decide to establish this group in Nature Network.
This network aims to promote information exchange and discussion for conservation of waterbirds in Nepal.
