Here’s a chance to say a bit about yourself and find out about who else is coming on 12 October…
I am co-ordinating the launch (with lots of help from Joanna Scott of Nature). I work for UKRC, where most of my work is around communication in different forms. We had a very interesting couple of sessions in Second Life last year, when we ran a consultation event as part of the government’s science and society initiative. I’m looking forward to meeting some old and new avatar faces this time round.

I’m Samantha, I’m a post-doc at Kings College London working in neural development in Drosophila and I’m definitely coming to the event on the 12th.
I haven’t joined second life yet but have been thinking about it for a while so this will be a great chance to have a go.

Hi Samantha – that’s great, I’ll look forward to meeting you virtually! You’ll need to download Second Life and get yourself an avatar. We will have an informal session on 5 October about 7pm UK time if you want a chance to practise moving around a bit.
