Thought this forum is set up to discuss policy related issues, I thought I would highlight something thing a little different – a little light fun for the long weekend.
The British Library is inviting the public to join in Henry VIII’s May Day celebration on Mon May 4th, 2009 from 11.00 – 16.00 in the Piazza and Entrance Hall of the British Library. This is a free event.
The programme includes free performances, re-enactments, Tudor sports, entertainments, workshops and stalls. You will also be able to see St George defeat the Dragon, dance around the May Pole, listen to Tudor tales and try your hand at some of the trades that kept Londoners busy 500 years ago.
More importantly, there will be an opportunity to join in British Libraries attempt to set the unofficial world record for the most Henry VIII look-alikes ever gathered in one place! The Henry line up will take place between 12.00 – 12.15 and you are asked to get there fro 11:00am
All look-alikes will gain free entry to the Henry VIII: Man and Monarch exhibition (subject to availability), and the best look-alike will win a £100 British Library Book Shop voucher.
