Hi ubiquitin people,
please nominate your research highlight of the year 2008 in the ubiquitin field!
My favorite was Pearce et al. on “pupylation”, the novel ubiquitin-like conjugation system in prokaryonts (see my previous comment in this forum). Does anyone (dis)agree?
Best wishes for a successful new year!

Hi
Yep, that’s a nice study, I liked this one too, along the same lines… Wang et al. The molecular basis of N-end rule recognition. Molecular Cell (2008) vol. 32 (3) pp. 406-14.
I’m always a fan of a good structural mechanism;)
I thought the following demonstrated a nice way to identify E3 ligase substrates, something close to my own interests: Yen et al. Global Protein Stability Profiling in Mammalian Cells. Science (2008) vol. 322 (5903) pp. 918-923. and Yen et al. Identification of SCF Ubiquitin Ligase Substrates by Global Protein Stability Profiling. Science (2008) vol. 322 (5903) pp. 923-929
cheers
