Let’s kick off the Toronto group with a pub night. Suggestions for time and location?

I’m in! How about the Duke of York. It worked for SciBarCamp and it’s easy to get to from just about anywhere — even York.
As for timing, the next couple of weeks would be good, before people start to disappear for summer vacations.

Summer vacations? What are those again?
-
How are Thursdays, in general, for people?
(June 12 or June 19 for example)
-
19th is good for me.

What about Jen? – Jen, Jen, you live so far but you started this: you get to have a say!

Hi!
This year the ISMB is in Toronto and therefore I presume that Jen will be there :-) …myself is there too.
So, what are “must have seen” places in Toronto? And where would you go if you have some free time after the congress in Canada.
Thanks and greetings from Germany!

Hey Markus,
Can you start a new forum thread with your question? That way it’s easier for people to find it.
(And since you asked: the Toronto Islands are really nice and not an obvious place to go to for many out-of-towners.)

Unfortunately I just got booked in for something I can’t avoid for the 19th. How about June 18th? I’m guessing a Wednesday would be better for a pub night, anyways, since there’s likely to be less people at the pub.
Duke of York sounds good! Eva, you booked them before – did you just call up with numbers? Do you know if there’s any chance of getting a room to ourselves?
-
I previously booked them online, on their website http://york.thedukepubs.ca/
but if you call you can ask for specific parts of the bar. There are no real rooms, but there are quiet and less quiet corners. -
OK, I’ve booked at the Duke of York for 7:30pm on Wednesday, June 18. It’s located at 39 Prince Arthur Avenue, just off of Bloor Street.
I’ll post an announcement on the Notice Board, too.
Hope to see you there!
