I read this rather interesting article on the lack of popular science writers in China, and the effects this might be having on the general public’s understanding of science and scientists.
The article came out some time ago, in 2005. Has the situation changed, three years later? Who are the top popular science writers in China?

Acturally, few people are still writing popular science. This because that it’s too difficult to wirte an easy-to-read book for young scientists. And elder scientists are always busy on many things, including scientific and non-scientific affairs.
