Nice one Anna !! Thanks a bunch for compiling this.
-
Also from breakout session 5: Oliver Obst’s slides
-
Thanks, Martin! I couldn’t find Oliver’s slides for some reason.

Clare’s are categorised as “private” which means I don’t seem to be able to link to them. I’ve emailed her to ask if she will make them “public”.
Thanks very much for doing this, Anna. I’ve now found another social network to join. Oh No! -
Thanks Maxine. I’ve made them available to everyone now (I hope)! I thought that if I made them private people would still be able to see them if I gave them the address. Duh. Another steep learning curve for yours truly :-)
-
Thanks, Clare. Talking of steep learning curves, this is just as likely to be me not understanding how to use Slide Share.

What do people think of the idea of having a Nature Network group for these (and any other) Science Blogging presentations, so they are all in one place on SlideShare, whoever uploaded them? I’d be happy to set up a group if people think it a good idea (and it hasn’t been done already and I simply haven’t managed to find it, I’ve been a SlideShare user for one day).
We could also have a more general Nature Network group on SlideShare for any presentations NN users wish to share. Again I can set this up if people are interested (I have asked this question in a forum post on the Nature Network bloggers unite forum).
-
Encouraged by one positive reply, I set up a general SlideShare group for Nature Network here.
I’ve invited the people from NN that I already found on SlideShare to join, and encourage anyone else reading this message to do the same, via clicking on link above.
The SlideShare URL is:
http://www.slideshare.net/group/nature-network.I’ll wait to hear from some of you before setting up a group specific for Science Blogging 2008 presentations (or not).

Those who enjoyed Clare’s talk (myself included!), might also be interested in a recent article in the New Yorker which covers some of the same research:
Jonah Lehrer, Annals of Science, “The Eureka Hunt,” The New Yorker, July 28, 2008, p. 40
(The official version from The New Yorker is not yet available, but there are lots of good summaries/discussion through Google)
-
I’ll check that out, Hilary, looks interesting (even though I am one of the least creative people I know).
Anna and all, I am just thinking that we don’t need a separate SlideShare group for ScienceBlogging 08 presentations if those that are shared or uploaded to the group are all tagged sciblog. I’ve done that to any that aren’t so far. Is that the best approach, rather than having too many different groups? Tagging will allow varoius subsets within the NN SlideShare group (eg sciblog09 ;-) ).
