So how to get more participants to sign up?

By today, October 7, 65 people have signed up to participate, at the conference website. At the Facebook Event page, 20 people have said that they will participate. Here, at Nature Network, the number is quite a bit lower… Why is that? And how do we get more people to come (100 is the magic number = success).
