I could have called this “Oldies”, but although I am the proud father of teenage daughters I don’t feel old (hence I won’t show my age!), and no-one will be attracted to an Oldies group! The point of this group is that whilst social network web sites have emerged amongst the decidedly younger generation, I am sure there are some of us who don’t quite fit this bill but who nevertheless feel that social networking sites in science have the potential to revolutionise how scientists collaborate. This group is for those of a similar mind, with one aim being to think together about this revolution. You don’t need to be a professor to join in – it was the kindest alternative to “Oldies” that I could think of!
