Hi all,
I have just set up a phylogeography and phylogeographic methods forum and thought some or all of you might like to join us there. So far we have members from Germany, England and Australia. To summarise this forum:
Phylogeography: “the history and formation of species”, “…the field of study concerned with the principles and processes governing the geographic distributions of genealogical lineages, especially those within and among closely related species”, “deals with historical phylogenetic components of the spatial distributions of gene lineages”; Avise 2000
The phylogeography and phylogeographic methods Forum is intended for:
-debate/discussion/explanation of the most appropriate bioinformatic methods for the study of phylogeography
-announcements of new literature describing methods and examples for the study of phylogeography
-discussion and summaries of “classic” literature
-general discussions on the study of phylogeography
-announcements of job openings, conferences, websites, software etc.
