Personalized Medicine & Global Systems Biology Forum
Moderators:
The promise of 1,000 dollars human genome has raised hopes for effective therapies of complex diseases based on individually-tailored molecular diagosis and prognosis.
So far, research on personalized molecular diagnosis has largely focused on pharmacogenomic studies but successful achievements in this area have been hindered by the complexity of the human interactome system.
Adopting a “global systems biology” approach can complement the procedure of “personalized molecular diagnosis/prognosis” by means of integrating “omic” data, thus leading to reasonable prediction of drug intervention outcome in each specific patient.
Here is a place for discussion about this new and fast growing field of science.
