Hi, I am Meagan.
I my PhD is in field of biochemsitry and I have been examining apoptosis and cell signaling in liver cells.
Why a PhD?
Initially because I was excited about science and curious about why things worked the way they did.
Now I am writing up…I am not so sure!

Hi, I am at the Max Planck Biochemistry trying to understand the regulation of eisosomes in patches. I am specifically focusing on Yta6 protein of yeast. Yta6 is Yeast Triple Atpase number 6 of a bigger subfamily.
I am doing a PhD so that in future I can talk and discuss with the most active groups of scientific world. I cannot just simply go to a big hot shot and waste his time. I need to have good working and practical knowledge which I hope to get from the PhD. Besides that I am interested in all kinds of mysteries which are natural and can be shown now or in future to have mechanism and to get such knowledge one needs to join some kind of institute as either the costly books and journals are easily available there.
Cheers,

Hi, I’m Marina. Starting my second year in cell and molec pathology program at University of Wisconsin-Madison. I am developing nonpathogenic e.coli vaccine vector delivery system, for the delivery of immunogenic Brucella melitensis proteins, also trying to define some epitopes.
i decided to go for the phd because of science, man, what’s not to love? (well other than protein expression)
:)

Hi, I’m Erwin
Into my second year of my PhD at University of Western Australia.
I’m under the School of anatomy & human biology. The area I am working on is on the immune reactivity of metal implants. Secifically on the immune mechanisms involved.
Why doing PhD? No matter how many times I ask myself, I always get a different answer. Today’s answer seems like, “Its a way to stop me from getting rich”….

Hi, I’m Madeline, a PhD student of Pharmacology at Cornell University. My research involves studying the dynamics of the ligand-binding domain of a neurotransmitter receptor, with the purpose of relating these dynamics to single channel studies and gain more understanding on the ligand-binding and channel-gating processes.
My receptor is involved in learning and memory, as well as Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, and ALS.
Why a Ph.D? Because I love the brain’s machinery and I’ve always wanted to do research for a living! -
hi this sahil
I am doing my masters in veterinary microbiology.
and want to pursue PhD from a good reputed university abroad so that I could really become a top class microbiologist. -
Hi this is Sanjiv Kumar, Master’s in Veterinary Microbiology. Currently pursuing Ph.D. in Biotechnology from IGIB (www.igib.res.in) India. May be its the curiosity or thrill to think and do, which no one has done it yet making me go for my Ph.D. and offcourse the respectable amount of money.

Hi everyone! I’m a 4th-year biomedical sciences PhD student at the University of Chicago. I study the role of corepressors in PPAR transcriptional regulation and their involvement in adipogenesis and adipocyte function. We hope to explore the relationship between obesity and diabetes.
I went into a PhD program because I thought biology was really interesting. Also, it would help me gain experience to achieve my lofty ultimate goal: to run a successful biotech company and to take over the world!!! evil laugh
Just kidding…
