    • Hi there. My name is Saowapak.

I am doing my Ph.D. in catalytic metal-organic framework with the computational chemistry approach

      … at Kasetsart University, Thailand
but I am looking forward to doing my research in overseas (especially in German-speaking countries).

      … Why?
      1) It’s challenging
      2) Good salary ;)
      3) I like it here
      4) Least hatred subject, I guess (Kidding!)

    • Hi, I am Amy and am working on a PhD with the Open University in Milton Keynes UK. I am exploring ways cognitive computer training in Executive Attention can generalize to improvements in Executive Function for people with brain injuries.

I am still finalizing my proposal…How could such few words be so much work….arghh. My work has now spread to three continents and I have met amazing people on this journey

I am doing a PhD because as I recovered from a brain injury I found out a lot about the brain that can make a contribution that will help others. Much of the research on my topic doesn’t help people justify the need for cognitive care or demonstrate that it is beneficial. I plan to meet the need…plus people are quite polarized on whether I am doing someting useful or have lost what little brain I had so I am interested to see which group is right and sign myself

    • Hi all!

I’m Kean How and doing my PhD in microfluidics at University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus.

Why? I like the challenges and satisfaction after you achieve something out of the challenges … and more important, my interest on the topic!!

    • Hi I am DHRUV doing PhD in nanobiotechnology lab in University of Bologna, I am working on Neurodegenerative disease mainly on Parkinsons disease structural confermation of alpha synuclein and effect of different different chemicals and protein on alpha synuclein but I have problem to find out exactly what is happening inside alpha synuclein.

    • Hi Dhruv
What got you interested in this aspect of Parkinsons and do other neurodegenerative diseases have the same markers? I have long believed that something basic and critical is missing in research on PD.

I work with people who have sustained cognitive decline as a result of neurodegenerative disease so I am really interested in where science is going for that area

    • Hi all!

I’m lily, doing PhD in developmental biology at Inner Mongolia Agricultural University ,China.

My works focus on epigenetic modifications alteration of imprinted genes in cloned sheep, especially DNA methylation. i love my work, because it makes me
eager to know more life secrets. I like to exploring not known things.

    • Hi Lily,
What got you interested in this and where do you think it will take you…I took a baby forensics and DNA class and I saw real possibilities for those in this field improving life. When I tried to explain it I got blank looks or lectures on not messing with creation etc. I explained life messes with creation and we are a part of it but I was outnumbered. My interest was not dampened though and likely if they had someone who actually studied this explain it they would have been more open LOL!
