Hi Boris,
We are planning on creating more city ‘hubs’ on Nature Network but we’re still working out which ones…although NY would make a pretty good candidate. We’re hoping to open up new hubs based on grassroots demand. So if we see lots of NY people join the Network, that would tell that us that maybe it’s time to start NN New York. You can help us out by inviting lots of NY-based researchers to join Nature Network!Corie

- sigh -I suppose this leaves Philomath, Oregon out of the loop. Far, far out of the loop. But, we do have the bobcat that visits the parking lot and chases the covey of quail.

I saw Nature Network is having a network 101 educational session here at NYAS. I think it’s mostly for students and postdocs.

Boris, you’re referring to the Dec 12 NYAS event about networking, right? I’ll be there, giving a talk about online networking.

Corie,
We will have a social on Dec 14, so you are welcome to stop by if you’re still in the area. -
Darn, I’ll be back in Boston by then. Next time I’m in NY, I’ll let you know. Thanks.

Boris et al,
Corie has been holding the NYC hub out like a carrot since December — so a couple of colleagues and I have decided to take a bite.New developments: now there is a nyc group to lobby for the creation of said hub. We are gathering April 9th at Lucky Jack’s after work if anyone would like to join.
Actually please do both — join the nyc group so our numbers can be counted together and meet us in the LES for a beer and whatnot.

I’ll send an email out to our club members about the event.
