how detrimental will it be to my gels if i tried making a stock 50X TAE buffer and ended up with around 1100 ml (or 1200?) instead of 1000 ml? so i know it’s less concentrated, do we really have to adjust measurements every time we want to make a 1X working solution? or should i just find a job at starbucks instead?

I would suggest you post your question in the Nature Protocols forum.

It does not matter for DNA Gel. You can use the 0.5 x TAE running buffer.
So dont worry about that. -
i am also using TAE Buffer.some times we differ the concentration fom 1x but we are getting same results.slight differ are adjusttable. so need not to worries about that.
