First I recommend you find another option besides starting a postdoc. This career path is so fraught with problems, you will be much better off doing anything else.
If you then decide to do a postdoc anyway, there is no way to guarantee getting into a “good” lab. The system is rife with labs that are basically dysfunctional families, with postdocs as the scapegoats, the middle child, and all around disadvantaged. Whatever lab you go into, just be prepared to run not walk away at the first sign of trouble.
It has nothing to do with hard work, intelligence, integrity, thick skin, perseverance, and so on. It has everything to do with luck.

Good opportunity and good luck is of much significance for the postdoc to find the best place.
