I have been posting this image in a few Paleontology forums, for
some Ideas on identification
Is it a Cat or a Bear? or a human…
It has been found in Northern BC

Appears to be an extinct primate species. Seems to be the footprint of one feet of primate.

The Whole boulder in better resolution
The only thing that puzzles me is that you are the only one that has recognized this for what it is. There was a find in Africa last year in 2008, that showed only 4 toes.
As well I do not know as a amateur any prehistoric mammals or dinasours that had a big toe. From my understand that evolved over time when we started walking upright for balance.
the presence of the middle toe distortion is grabbing some mud while he is running, as well as the next two toes look slightly folded under as suggested by the greater depth.
As a amateur I can also see that the dimple at the bottom could be the muscle that extends up the heel. At any rate, the presence of toes in alignment is a great puzzle.
I greatly appreciate your comment, you are the first. Is there any other resources I can perhaps access to get this print assessed. It has hit the local news now with great interest.
