A recurring theme of the Source Event’s science writing talks was networking. Since I didn’t do this nearly enough at the last Nature Network pub night (which was almost half a year ago, I can’t help but point out), I’m wondering when the next one will take place. End of summer, new semester, aren’t that good reasons to get together again, chill with a beer, and exchange blog addresses?

I think Matt is away for a few days, but I am sure there has been a NN London pub night more recently than that – July? I seem to remember going to it. I think that it was decided not to have one in August because of the Science Blogging 2008 conference and the many pub
daysnights that accompanied that. However, indeed, it seems about time for the next one now, I agree. -
Yup, there was one in July. And August was the bloggers conference as Maxine says.
I’m away now for a week, but I’ll make organising another meetup a priority when I return.

Is Imperial too far away from the hub of networking for me to notice what’s going on, or am I just too holed up in my own world for me to notice what’s going on?

It is true that the July 08 evening doesn’t seem to be on this forum: I think I found out about it via Matt’s London Editor blog. And the August 08 pub days, evenings, mornings and nights were organised via the Science Blogging 08 forum. So if you didn’t check those out you may not have known.
So for the next one, Matt, would you mind posting here and on your blog so we are sure to reach Imperial ;-)? -
Any further news? I know Matt’s been trying to arrange something different for the pub evening. But I’d come along to an ordinary dull old pub evening, and I suspect others would too.
