Collective Blogging on February 14?

On February 14 Nature Network turns one year old. I think we should commemorate this day with a collective blogging effort. It would be great if we could each write a blog post relating to that date and post on February 14. There are many interesting topics, starting of course with the fact that it is Valentine’s Day. Wikipedia has some more ideas:
- Dolly, the first cloned mammal, died on that day in 2003
- James Cook died on that day in 1779
- Carl Bernstein, the journalist, was born on that day in 1943
- Charles Wilson, the physics nobel laureate, was born on that day in 1869
- Lawrencium, chemical element 103, was discovered on that day in 1961
- Alexander Graham Bell applied for a patent for the telephone on that day in 1876
- Christopher Sholes, inventor of the QWERTY keyboard, was born on that day in 1819

A day for all NNBloggers to post together is a great way to celebrate NN’s birthday! Hope you don’t mind if I diverge a little from the date, as far as blog topics are concerned.
-
And while we’re at it, everyone with other blogs besides the NN blog, could mention that it’s NN’s birthday so that others can come see what’s up! :)
So, we’d have new people visiting the party and everyone will have fresh posts to read!

One weak from today we will celebrate the first birthday of Nature Network. Should we try to all post a nice and interesting blog entry on that day, or should we come up with something special? My suggestion: we all write a blog entry with the same title, but totally different content, e.g.
- How Nature Network changed my life
- A day in the life of a Nature Network user

I’m in, Martin. That sounds like a great idea… an NNBlogger Blogging day (or whatever our name will be at that time).
-
Nice idea, Martin, I will write a Nautilus post on the 14th , as my NN blog is just an archive for my Nature “From the Blogosphere” column, and the 14 Feb issue of Nature has already passed for press, such is the tyranny of the print medium!

I’m looking forwad to the 14th.
I finished a strip yesterday titled “How Nature Network changed my life”. As usualy, it tells the story from a different point of view.
I have also an other special strip for that that day. -
Happy birthday, Nature Network! My post on Nautilus is here.

My tear-stained tribute is here. I have nothing further to add.

I really liked our SynchroBlogging effort (as Henry put it). The next good opportunity will probably be April 1 – the opportunities for fun stories are endless.

Ah, sense of humour. That’s a real challenge!
