Nature Network Blogger Meeting?

Over at Annas blog we had started talking about a Nature Network Blogger meeting. Not everybody could make it to the Science Blogging Conference in North Carolina last weekend, especially those of us not living in North America.
Who would be interested in meeting in person somewhere in Europe later this year? Depending on the interest, we could either just have a fun day (sort of an extended NN Pub night) or organize a small science blogging conference.

For a location close to my home, I would suggest Wilsede (see some pictures here at Flickr). Wilsede is an old village with no car access (only bikes and horse carriages), surrounded by heath. Wilsede has become a popular place for scientific meetings, starting with the now famous meeting Modern Trends in Hman Leukemia more than 25 years ago. The location is fantastic, and you can’t walk or drive away while the meeting is in progress because of the remote location.
More realistically, a European Nature Network Blogger meeting should probably take place in or around London. September or October would give us enough time to organize. Unless we can still do something at ESOF in Barcelona.

I’m talking to a well known venue in London about this, and might have some news soon. Sept/Oct in London could well be a possibility…

I might even be able to make it to London around that time! On the other hand, I should be close to defending around that time too, so maybe it’s actually a bad time.
But Sept/Oct are cheap times to fly and Toronto-London is relatively cheap too, and I might be able to persuade my parents to fly Amsterdam-London and meet me there for a few days as well. Hmmm… -
Oh, I’m new here, so Hello World!
I’d been keen on turning up to a blogmeet. I’m partial to the idea of Cromer, even if Mr. Gee’s description of the Norfolk countryside doesn’t quite square with how I remember it. Sept/Oct would be perfect for the bracing sea breeze.
Failing that, London would be fine, although it will make it harder for me to avoid Slough.

May be London is a good idea. In September, there will be the Source Event there. Two events for the price of one?
I will be probably flying to Boston for a Conference and may stop in London on the way back.
