Hello everyone - New Blogger

Hello,
I’m one of the new bloggers for the London Blog so thought I’d just introduce myself, although some of you may have seen a few of my guest blogs posted by Matt Brown in the last couple of months.
My name’s Chloé and I’m currently a postgraduate student at Imperial College where I’m studying for a MSc in Science Communication. Prior to that my undergraduate degree was in Physics at Lincoln College, Oxford, where my master’s research dissertation was on the relationship between increasing carbon dioxide concentration and changes in global temperature and precipitation.
My main science communication interests are explaining simple practical science (eg. why does toast always land butter side down and how to successfully shake ketchup out of a glass bottle) and also writing news stories. Hopefully this blog will also give me the opportunity to practise writing more opinion-pieces and help broaden my writing style.
Outside of science my main interest is horse-riding (and equestrian journalism) and also musical theatre.
I hope you will all enjoy reading my future contributions to Nature Network – please get in touch with me if there’s anything you would like to see covered or if you have any comments on my blogs. Constructive criticism is always welcome!
Hope you all are having a lovely weekend
Chloé

Welcome Chloe! Looking forward to reading your posts.

Welcome to Nature Network! I’d love to read blog posts about practical science. In Germany we have a popular weekly column in the newspaper Die Zeit by Christoph Droesser (German language link here) that is always fun to read.

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome.
Martin – I’ll certainly look into doing some practical science blog posts then that are related to London.
