Via Bora, naturally.

February 12th-15th, 2009 participating bloggers around the world will be celebrating the bicentenary of Charles Darwin’s birth (February 12th, 1809) with a BLOG SWARM, in which posts will be aggregated on BLOG FOR DARWIN to be kept as a resource for educators, students, and others.
Even the non-biologists can join in!

Anyone who is planning to join in, there is a free resource at Nature called 15 evolutionary gems, written by Henry Gee (of this
parishNetwork), Rory Howlett and Philip Campbell (Editor of Nature). The resource consists of 15 examples published by Nature over the past decade or so to illustrate the breadth, depth and power of evolutionary thinking. The journal is offering this resource freely and encourages its free dissemination – eg for educational use in schools. It would be lovely if people would consider linking to this resource in their posts.
The Nature Darwin special, being added to as the year progresses, is here. It contains lots of news features, commentary of various kinds, slideshow, scientific papers, etc. -
I will try to blog during that week. Should we use the tag “blogfordarwin”?

Might be worth checking at Bob’s source, Martin, as they may have already decided on a tag? If so, would perhaps make sense to have the same one.
-
I don’t think they did have a tag (silly, really). I agree it might be a good idea to use that one. At least then we will be coordinated.

There is a nice editorial in the new Nature Geoscience (Feb 09), called Darwin’s geology. “The Charles Darwin bicentennial celebrates the man who recognized natural selection and changed the world’s views on evolution. However, his contributions to geology should not be overlooked.”
