There’s a similar thread on Flickr (but with pictures), so thought I’d try that here.
What’s your best blog post of the year? By best, taht can be best written, best responded, most proud of, best use of unicycle, or whatever.
So, what’s your best?
For me, I think it has to be Goodbye, university lecture notes – I enjoyed writing it (it’s an unusual style for me), it was relevant to how I was feeling at the time, and I’m reliably informed that it made at least one person cry.
Share all! I need something to read between Christmas cards…

Well, at least you’re getting Christmas cards…
The post that I’ve read that caused me the most amusement is of course Brian Clegg’s Get Poetical, Now!
I don’t have a best post because my blog here is only three posts old.
-
Best of three works for me, but frankly, best own post?
Please. Life, for the getting of.
-
Life? That’s the name of the game, do you want to play the game with me? (Clue: you lose. Or is that tictactoe? I can’t remember.)
Hey, like I say, it worked on Flickr – I thought it would be interesting to see what people thought their best was – if only, as it helps to give an idea of what ‘best’ means.

One of each? Best of mine and best of everyone else. This is what we did at Nature for our last issue of year (18/25 December) – a page of editors’ picks of the entire scientific literature and a page of what they liked best in Nature this year.

Great idea Maxine.
This is my favourite of everyone else’s on the basis that it made me laugh, and I still remember it.

Blog post of the year is too difficult for me. But I can recommend these three:
-
Best for me in terms of composing, reads and comments was We’re Scientists my match report of attending Science Blogging 2008: London
-
blush Thanks, Martin!
I haven’t replied to this because in a multireligious household, preparing for Chanukah and Christmas and my last trip to Paris this year and three manuscript drafts in progress and grant applications for February have prevented me from thinking about anything else.
Well, you all know how it is.
Henry notwithstanding, I don’t feel any qualms about hoping that all your respective seasonal holidays are happy ones.
