Bora from A Blog Around the Clock is coming to London on 9 April. We’re organising a few drinks at a local pub and trying to gather together as many science bloggers as possible. Anyone who can make it is welcome – I’ll let you know the location when we’ve got something arranged.

He’ll also be travelling to Cambridge, Trieste, Belgrade and Berlin.

    • you know, i have been to norfolk A LOT and think you should take up the sofa offer, particularly if there is a car trip to holkham beach with the dog/s thrown in. this beach is breathtaking in any weather any time of year and is counted within the world’s top 10 beaches. it is beautifully land managed to enhance it’s wildness, and a walk there is worth a fortnight anywhere else.
in other news, if daytime is acceptable, i suggest lunch at hackney city farm and the aftenoon in the fleapit cafe. the food at HCF is lovely, and the space is big, while the fleapit is comfortable, we would be likely to have it to ourselves, and if loads turn up and we get into big group discussion the guy who owns it is very cool about giving over the use of the big space at the back that he uses for film shows. (though we should let him know in advance to keep our dibs on it)

    • Thanks Bora – great! Let me know your plans and I can easily arrange a trip to Cambridge. But it’ll be just me, sadly – the chickens will have to stay at home.

    • I didn’t see Elaine’s reply before posting my own, Bora – and she’s right about Holkham Beach. It’s spectacular, and only about an hour’s car ride from my house. North Norfolk is spectacular, whatever the weather – which is just as well, really.

    • Norfolk sounds like a weekend activity? On the 12th?

I think I’ll be visiting my cousins in Watford on May 2-3.

    • Bora – you are cordially invited to North Norfolk for the weekend 12-13 April. The chickens are very excited.

    • I have arranged a behind-the-scenes tour of the Natural History Museum’s zoological collections including spectacular giant squid at 4:30pm on Wednesday 9 April, followed by a festive evening at a local pub and possibly dinner. Organising here:

    • OK, I think we’ve decided on a pub. After the NHM tour Karen mentions, we will walk over to the Queen’s Arms – maybe around 6.30.

Please email Karen (karen (at) thebeagleproject (dot) com) if you’d like to come on the tour. And say here if you’ll just be in the pub afterwards (so we can get an idea of numbers).

    • Bora, I’ll be in Cambridge 11th onwards. I’m not much of a beer drinker but I’d love to meet for coffee sometime, whenever suits you. There’s this Italian cafe in Cambridge that serves a cappuccino as good if not better than you can get even in Trieste :)

    • I think I should be able to make it to the pub on the 9th. Does anyone who’s definitely going to be there have a mobile number in case I need to get in touch with y’all? My mobile is 07769 710 914

    • The Nature Network Bloggers (Cromer Division) is currently in session.
