Feature Request: Group Blogs

Blog posts on Nature Network are currently only possible from a single user. While that is the typical use of a blog, group blogs with several (say 2-5) authors can sometimes be useful. This could be the group blog from a lab, a blog about a specific topic, or even the Friday Afternoon Scientific Nonsense Brought to You by Your Fellow Nature Network Bloggers (FASNBTYBYFNNB) blog.

Couldn’t one use a forum or a group to achieve the same end? Or get close, anyway.
-
I think that’s a great idea, Martin. Bob – yes, I think you could use forums for that, but wouldn’t the thread would be much more cumbersome to follow?
-
That’s funny you posted on this now. I emailed Corie about this a few days ago because I was thinking about how it would be nice to have another contributor to my blog. I am all for it!

I believe that the “group blogging” functionality is on the list for the upcoming major upgrade planned for later this year.
-
Indeed, when we move to Movable Type later this year, it should be possible to set up group blogs (along with image upload and a whole bevy of other features).
-
Ah, so it wasn’t just my usual stupidity when I couldn’t upload a PDF earlier today, Matt?!
-
Matt, when can we anticipate the switch to the new Movable Type?

I’m afraid I can’t put a sharp date on this, as it relies on many factors beyond the team’s control, plus plenty of techy work. But we’re talking sometime in the next few months.
