Hello and greetings!
Several have asked the following questions during my visits to labs and at conferences. I include some responses for your convenience. There is long list but here are some very common ones…
1) Will I get a rejection record if my paper gets rejected too many times?
There is no such thing as a rejection record. We do not keep track of who’s paper has been rejected how many times. There are many other things we have to do!
2) Is it true that editors read only the cover letter?
No, we read the entire paper from beginning to end (So, don’t leave anything out!). Before deciding to send any paper out for review, we search through the databases and read through your references to find if anything similar has been done.
3) Do you publish papers by region?
We publish the best papers from everywhere around the world. Where the paper comes from is not important. It is the quality of the content that matters. All papers are peer-reviewed.
4) Is Nature Nanotechnology a British journal?
No, we are an international journal, which is why we publish papers from everywhere.
5) Do you judge the paper by its English?
No, we do not judge the English. We are looking for content. Of course, the paper should be written so it can be understood even if the English is imperfect. Once the paper is accepted, it goes through a series of editing and authors are given every opportunity to check.
6) How many papers do you receive?
Nature Nano is now receiving about 90-100 submissions per month and we are four editors.
If you have other questions, feel free to post them here…
