Discussing with some astrophysicists, they mentioned a website that lists all position of their field that was open, and rumors associated with them ( giving information such as who was selected for interview, who received an offer, who accepted/refused it). Curious, I looked it up, and there is it. I find the concept intriguing and have not seen anything equivalent in health science or engineering (but granted, the community is much bigger). The page is a wiki, so editing is easy, and the guidelines are that if someone removed your info, it means that they didn’t want it known.
I love/hate this concept. I am curious by nature, so I am attracted to this kind of gossip. But I also respect others, and feel that this info could be viewed as a breach of privacy. I am curious as to how others feels about such a page.
