Good. One more conference, some more fun for scientists from India and abroad at tax payers’ expense. Is there any accountability for such conferences? What drug developed by Indian scientists, in India, since Indian independence (I don’t care about publications but talking about real drugs that cure people)? I was reading an interesting post in Nature India; mainly the opinions of various readers there. Check it: A joke of science

Hi, initially I thought not to response this type of comment. This is perfect example in our system, person who do not understand Science or have not done any science put comment based popular media on scientific activity. According to these persons we should stop all education/science activity in country. In order to organize a scientific activity, one has to work hard. These activity are useful for development of human resource development. We all know, India is unable to retain talent due to comparative salary , this type of comment further discourage scientist working in Indian system in order to improve standard of science in India. No country can survive for long without developing own science and technology.
May I request Nature network to put this event on “Nature India”

Sure, it looks like a very good issue. Nature India will put this up on its events list. We might also want to cover the conference.
Best of luck.
