Thanks to everyone who has joined the group so far, I guess that we now need to get the ball rolling?
To start off I thought that I should let you know other places where Mums in Science can be found.
We have a web site that has been going for quite a few years and its extremely well read, worldwide, this can be found at www.mumsinscience.net. If you sign up for the Mums in science e-newsletter here you will receive all the articles that have been posted in the last month in your emails box the first week of each month
We also have a new network on facebook
Finally I am in the process of developing a group in the virtual work of second life (http://secondlife.com/)– so please watch this space so that I can tell you more when its finished. For those of you don’t know second life is a virtual word where almost anything goes. Its free and there is an island there dedicated to science, Nature have regular meetings there and there are many science groups (and mothers groups) developing there.
We never charge anything and we don’t make a profit, this has just been set up as a network for all mums who work in any aspect of science. I hope that this network will grow and can be fun, mutually supportive and informative where needed.
All comments very welcome

Readers might also be interested in this long discussion thread at Mind the Gap, Jennifer Rohn’s Nature Network blog. Many views expressed by and about women and parents in science .
See also the UK Resource Centre for Women in Science, Engineering and Technology. Ruth Wilson, who leads that group, is a Nature Network member.
There has been lots of discussion on Nature Network on this topic, of course! Some of it is collected here. One good forum is the Nature Jobs careers advice forum, run by the Nature Jobs editors.
