Good pubs for social gatherings

Has anyone got good recommendations for pubs where we can hold next year’s Nature Network meetups? After nine evenings in the Lamb, we’re thinking of moving round a bit. I’d particularly like to hear about places near Imperial’s main campus and the various King’s hangouts.
Any potential venue would need a private room or large reservable area, at little or no hire charge.
