I recently put up a wiki site gathering ideas on building new library in our building (http://vlibrary.pbworks.com) and though it might interest your group
Thanks Ralph

“The Problem”
Okay so I have this big empty room on the blueprints that are supposed to become a library in about 10-12 months. The problem is we have no librarians on staff and at the present time we have no budget allotment to hire them. I volunteered to take this project on, to develop a concept of operations and vision for the library. I know nothing about setting up a library and I am not nor have ever been a librarian. But I do have a specific vision and idea for the library
“The vision”I would like to step away from the traditional library setup and focus on providing a world class facility for innovation (similar to this?) and become the catalyst for promoting air force culture, research and development of Air Power strategic thought and exploration of future aerospace concepts.
By providing access to new media formats, digital research tools and partnerships with the existing world class library within the CF and other military libraries I want the Aerospace Warfare Center will be the destination of choice for scholars and students(military and civilian) pursuing Air Power Knowledge and history.
“How can you help”
If you’re a librarian I love to hear what you think of the idea, if you’ve ever wanted to have input to the design and operating concepts of new library, well here is your chance.
If you are a researcher or an academic and wanted to see libraries support your work by providing new and innovative service, this is your forum to make those views known
If you just want to contribute ideas and thoughts on the whole un-library thing well I would love to hear from you
