From 11th to 13th of February 2009, the 3rd meeting of Chilean Scientists in Europe, named “Encuentros” will be held in the Max-Planck-Institute for Experimental Medicine in Göttingen, Germany. The conference is organised by young Chilean scientists working in Europe (Matias Hernadez member of the Latin-America group is one of the organisers) and supported by Nature Network and Bionexa This event aims at bringing together internationally acclaimed scientists of the Chilean scientific community residing in Europe and Chile.

To obtain a comprehensive view, the organisers invited speakers from different disciplines whose work converges on scientific and political questions. With this in mind, they intend to enhance academic and scientific collaboration between professionals residing in Europe and their colleagues in Chile. The topics that will be covered are mainly from the biological sciences, but we have been careful not to exclude other disciplines. We hope that over 70 young Chilean scientists based in Chile and Europe will attend the “Encuentros” meeting.

You might want to take a look at the webpage of the “Encuentros 2009” conference (click here). The webpage will be updated regularly with the latest information.

What you all think, will you be interested to attend/participate?
