Hi y’all – ciao a tutti – bonjour à tous,
Who I am in a few words…
I grew up in Genova and in 1998, at the end of my university studies (Molecular Biology at the Università di Genova and Applied Genetics at the Università di Pavia) I left Italy for post-doctoral training (and a better salary ;-). After some travelling (France, USA, UK), I am now back to France where I work in Lyon as a research scientist at the Institut National de Recherche Agronomique in the “UMR203 INRA INSA-Lyon Biologie Fonctionnelle Insectes et Interactions (BF2I) Laboratory”. I am involved in the application (and development) of genomics technologies to the study symbiosis (more details in my Nature Network profile).About this forum…
I hope we will have a chance to share views and dreams (as someone else said before) on Italian University and Research. I find it very interesting to have people working both in Italy and abroad getting together to discuss and exchange ideas. I think we all share the desire to see things getting better for future generations of Italian scientists. One day maybe there will be a “Bel Paese” also for researchers… and leaving Italy will become more and more a free choice, rather than a necessity (as it has been for many “Italians” I met around the world).Cheers, Steva
